CS2 Souvenir skins: differences and valuation

The souvenir skin is an item from the tournament set, which already has gold stickers: the tournament logo, team emblems and the player’s autograph. It cannot be assessed as a regular skin, because the main value is usually not in the coverage itself.

At a glance

Where do souvenir items come from, why are the gold stickers on them more important than skin itself, and how to evaluate a souvenir if there are almost no similar sales.

01

Where Souvenir items come from

From souvenir sets that were given to spectators during major tournaments. Inside the set is an item from the collection of a specific card with tournament stickers already attached.

Stickers are placed automatically and in random slots. That is why two souvenirs of the same skin from the same tournament can cost differently: one has the autograph of a famous player in a prominent place, the other has it hidden.

The influx of new specimens occurs only during tournaments. Old souvenirs no longer appear, and this is the main factor in their price.

02

What affects their price

Tournament. Old Major tournaments are valued noticeably higher than fresh ones: the sets are long gone, and there is only a finite amount of items left from them.

Player for autograph. Legendary figures on the stage fetch multiple markups. The autograph of a player that no one remembers gives almost nothing.

Position of stickers. An autograph on a visible part of a weapon is more expensive than the same autograph hidden on the butt.

Condition and float. For souvenirs they work in the same way as for regular skins, but with an adjustment: in some collections only high wear values are found.

skin itself. The in-demand coating raises the price, but for souvenirs this is often the background, not the main factor.

03

Valuing items with few comparable sales

The problem with souvenirs is that there are almost no exact analogues. skin one, another tournament, third autograph, fourth position - there are few coincidences.

This is the order. Find the price of a regular, non-souvenir version of this skin in the same condition - that's the lower limit. Next, look for completed sales of souvenirs from the same tournament, preferably with the same player. The spread between them will give the range.

If there are no sales at all, focus on the lower limit and be prepared for a long sale. Uniqueness works against liquidity here: the rarer the combination, the fewer people who will pay for it.

Remember
  • Check the composition of the stickers in the checker, and not in the picture - autographs are easy to confuse.
  • There are no souvenir versions with StatTrak.
  • Scraping off tournament stickers almost always means slashing the price.
04

Common mistakes

Add the price of a skin and the price of stickers. Tournament stickers are not sold separately and do not have a market price to add on.

Consider the rarity of the tournament to be a guarantee of an expensive sale. A rare match without famous players may not be worth anything over the base.

Buy a souvenir as an investment. This is the most illiquid part of the market: money is frozen for a long time, and a buyer has to wait for months.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does a Souvenir skin differ from a regular skin?

It already has the gold tournament stickers on it, it only came out of specific tournament packs and does not come in the StatTrak version.

Can Souvenir stickers be removed?

They can be scraped off, but cannot be returned. This almost always has a negative effect on the price.

Why can seemingly identical Souvenir items have different prices?

Stickers are placed in random slots. An autograph of a famous player in a prominent place is worth many times more than the same autograph on a stock.

Are there Souvenir knives?

No. Souvenir sets contain items from the collections of the corresponding cards; special items are not included there.

Are Souvenir skins suitable for resale?

This is the most illiquid part of the market. Selling may take months, so they are not suitable for turnover.
